Finding hope and healing in the arms of Jesus
Abortion is one of the most painful and emotional subjects in our culture today. Many voices celebrate it as freedom, choice, or empowerment. Others reduce the baby in the womb to “a blob of tissue” or “a mass of cells.” As Christians, we believe every life is created by God, known by Him, and is precious in His sight.
At the same time, many women — and men — carry deep wounds after abortion. Some were pressured. Some were afraid. Some truly believed they had no other option. Some were never told the truth about the life growing inside of them. Many are silently carrying shame, grief, confusion and regret.
This is not a message of condemnation. This is a message of truth, hope, healing, and restoration through Jesus Christ.
Jesus does not turn away the brokenhearted. He welcomes them.
God Knew Our Children Before Birth
Scripture teaches clearly that life in the womb matters to God.
“For You formed my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb. I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you.”
The Bible does not describe unborn children as meaningless tissue. God calls them known, formed, created, and loved. Life is sacred because God is the Author of life.
For Those Who Have Had Abortions
If you are reading this and you have had an abortion, you may carry pain no one else sees. You may wonder:
- “Can God forgive me?”
- “I’ll never forgive myself.”
- “Why do I still hurt years later?”
- “Why do I feel empty, angry, numb, or broken inside?”
- “Can I make peace and move on from this awful thing I did?”
The answer is yes. Jesus came for sinners, for the wounded, for the ashamed, for those carrying heavy burdens.
Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus.
The cross of Christ is bigger than your past. Abortion is not the unforgivable sin. God’s mercy is still available. Jesus still heals hearts. He still restores lives. He still redeems what feels shattered.
The Bible does not describe unborn children as meaningless tissue. God calls them known, formed, created, and loved. Life is sacred because God is the Author of life.
We Were Not Always Told the Truth
Many people were told abortion was simple, harmless, or necessary. Some were told:
“It’s just tissue.”“It’s not really a baby.”
“This is your only option.”
“It's just not the right time.”
But afterward, many discover emotional, spiritual, and psychological pain they never expected. Some grieve deeply but feel they are not allowed to talk about it because culture celebrates abortion and silences regret. But your grief matters. Your pain matters. And God sees every tear.
The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart.
Jesus Offers Healing and Restoration
Healing begins with bringing everything into the light before God. Not hiding. Not pretending. Not carrying shame forever. Jesus already knows your story — and He still loves you.
Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
You do not have to stay trapped in guilt, self-hatred, depression, or silence. There is healing in:
- repentance
- honesty
- surrender
- prayer
- Scripture
- Christian community
- counseling
- grieving with God
- receiving Christ’s forgiveness
The Bible does not describe unborn children as meaningless tissue. God calls them known, formed, created, and loved. Life is sacred because God is the Author of life.

Have I truly brought my pain to Jesus?
Do I believe God’s grace is greater than my past?
What would healing look like in my life?
Have I forgiven myself after receiving God’s forgiveness?
Is God calling me to help others find healing too?
