Women Choose Life During 40 Days for Life Fall Campaign
At least two women chose life during the fall 40 Days for Life campaign, Sept. 28-Nov. 6. The campaign, which engages concerned members of the community, to pray and fast for an end to abortion, took place outside the Fort Lauderdale Women's Center, a late-term abortion facility on Oakland Park Blvd.
Brittany Chooses Life
Brittany chose life even before the campaign began. The campaign's kickoff rally was winding down when she drove into the parking lot of the church, Centro Familiar Cristiani, which is next door to the Fort Lauderdale Women's Center. It was a Sunday night and 40 Days for Life leaders were packing up after the campaign's kickoff rally.
Having read on the abortion facility website that it was open 24 hours, Brittany mistook the 40 Days for Life leaders as abortion facility representatives. A "friend" of hers, she said, was considering an abortion, and she was inquiring on her behalf.
Both Tom Walker, 40 Days for Life Fort Lauderdale campaign director, and Tewannah Aman, outreach coordinator for 40 Days for Life, talked with Brittany. She confided, in tears, to Tewannah that it was she who was seeking an abortion. Tewannah and another 40 Days for Life participant Sarah Leinberger, counseled Brittany, and urged her to visit Hope Women's Center for more assistance.
The next day Tewannah talked with Brittany who announced she was at Hope Women's Center, and was keeping her baby!
"God used us to dissuade 35 women from becoming clients of this abortion facility saving them and their support network from a lifetime of regret."
That's just one example of what God did during the fall 2016 campaign. "God used us to dissuade 35 women from becoming clients of this abortion facility saving them and their support network from a lifetime of regret," said Tom Walker.
